Welcome from IFSR World President PDG Mark Kriebel
It’s hard to believe we welcomed 2024 just a few weeks ago, andmsngwith the new year many people resolve to try something new! I hope you can include the IFSR in your New Years resolutions by engaging with your fellow Rotarians and discussing the benefits of Rotary Fellowships and our Scouting Fellowship in particular. It’s up to each of us to reach out to others who can be motivated to join our ranks with the ultimate benefit of growing the Scouting and Guiding movement.
Ask your Club if you can make a presentation on Scouting, and invite some Scouts to attend your meeting! The IFSR can provide you with certificates to recognize Scouts who achieve milestone ranks, such as the Eagle Scout Award or the Gold Award in Girl Scouting. We have certificates to recognize Scouts from across the globe. It makes for a great program for Rotarians to hear the accomplishments of these Scouts, and you may be hosting a potential future Rotarian! In this newsletter you’ll find a listing of IFSR District Coordinators. If you are a coordinator - Thank You! If your District does not have a coordinator, please consider stepping up to fill that role. A quick email to our Executive Secretary Randy Seefeldt (ifsr@scoutingrotarians.org) will get you on the list, and Randy will be happy to send you a box of supplies (brochures, Dochterman Award applications, etc). And think about someone you know who would be a deserving recipient for the Dochterman Award. It’s important that we recognize those individuals who provide extraordinary service to both Scouting and Rotary, and the Dochterman Award was created for that purpose.
The Singapore Rotary Convention is just around the corner, and we need your help in serving a shift or two in our booth #1500 in the House of Friendship. Please promote our attendance at the Convention and help if you can. And thanks to each of you for all you continue to do for both Rotary and Scouting in 2024!
